The ultimate-smash-friends development team is happy to announce a new version of the project, coming with lots of improvements :) , and, at last, what did not happened in a long time a new synchronized version between all the supported platforms (Linux/Windows/MacOsX).

To sum up changes since the last version, we should start by noticing a big improvement on Artificial Intelligence (which is starting to give me a hard time to win, which is a good thing :) ), the correction of a bug of installation on windows/seven (log file misplaced, crashing the app :]), and a better windows installer (proposing optional installation of dependencies (python/pygame/numpy), which are necessary to play.

Without waiting more, links to the various packages!

Obviously bug reports are as always more than welcome here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ultimate-smash-friends

Update: corrected tar.gz release, fixed shortcuts to game in windows installer.

  1. Hi, I have a Problem using the installer on Windows 7 64bit.
It seems, the executable, the python script, isn’t placed in the installation – which is in Programm files(x86). That means, the desktop shortcuts aren’t functioning, but I can’t find the script manually neither. Funny thing is, the time, I start USF from the installer works.

  2. Hi, thanks for testing, and for your report, the first time the game is launched, it launch the python module directly, so it seems, that part of the installation worked, i’m not sure why you don’t get the shortcut, as i had them both on windows xp and seven (both VM), i’ll try to reproduce and fix that, in the mean time, you can start the game the same way as the installer by double clicking in the “main.py” file in c:\Python26\Lib\site-package\

    Sorry for the inconvenience

edit: i updated the installer, it was a mistake on my side, it should be fixed now.
